I’m proud to have work hanging in a group show at Cincinnati’s ARt Beyond Boundaries. Specifically, I’m pleased to be a part of, “A Thousand Flowers Bloom.”
Beyond the pride one always feels in being part of well curated show, I’m especially happy to be a part of this show as it marks the first time I’ve hung work in this gallery.
I’m happy to be a part of this show because I very much admire the work of Art Beyond Boundaries which continues to provide a professional, mainstream exhibition venue for both mainstream artists, but more importantly; for also providing artists with disabilities a venue to display their artwork.
The opening reception for A Thousand Flowers Bloom was held Friday, March 22nd, 2013, though the show continues to run through May 3rd, 2013. Art Beyond Boundaries Gallery is located at 1410 Main Street in Cincinnati’s historic Over-the-Rhine.
In their own words, “The Art Beyond Boundaries Gallery is a professional, mainstream fine art exhibition venue where local and regional artists with disabilities display, market, and sell their artwork. The mission of the gallery is to promote awareness and understanding of artists with disabilities. The gallery strives to demonstrate to both the artists and the community that art transcends the limits of disabilities.”
ABB boundaries is run by Mr Jymi Bolden; a man of class, vision and an inordinate amount of common sense. Jymi is also a damn fine photographer in his own right and I’ve learned a lot from him over the years. There have been times when I’ve found a ten minute conversation with Jymi is worth a year’s teaching from other supposed experts.
In a field in which ideas are often plentiful and common sense- let alone business acumen- is all too often lacking, Jymi has to not only kept this noble endeavor afloat, but has made the gallery a success.
ABB’s shows are always well curated; and its openings consistently well attended. I was not only pleased to hang in this show, but honored to have my work hang with so many talented artsists, including artists I’ve admired and respected for a long time. It was also a pleasure to meet new artists.
Make time to go see the show and support this cause. For any questions or more information please contact Art Beyond Boundaries Gallery at 513.421.8726 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
